How much does roof cleaning cost?
Roof cleaning typically costs between £850 and £4,000 depending on the size of your roof, the amount of moss/algae, access requirements, and the cleaning method needed. We provide free, no-obligation quotes so you'll know the exact cost before we start.
Is roof cleaning safe for my tiles?
Yes, when done correctly. We assess every roof before cleaning and choose the appropriate method for your tile type. Low pressure cleaning is safe for most roofs. For older or fragile tiles, we use manual scraping which involves no water pressure at all.
How long does roof cleaning take?
Most residential roofs take 1-2 days to clean thoroughly. Larger properties or roofs with heavy moss growth may take longer. We'll give you a time estimate when we quote.
Will roof cleaning damage my tiles?
Not when done by professionals. We never use high-pressure jet washing on roofs — it can crack tiles and force water under them. Our low pressure and manual scraping methods are specifically designed to clean without causing damage.
How often should I have my roof cleaned?
Most roofs benefit from cleaning every 3-5 years, depending on your location and how quickly moss grows. North-facing roofs and those under trees may need more frequent cleaning. After our biocide treatment, regrowth is significantly slower.
What's the difference between low pressure cleaning and manual scraping?
Low pressure cleaning uses controlled water pressure with biocide treatment to remove and kill moss and algae. Manual scraping involves hand-removing moss tile by tile — ideal for older or fragile roofs. Both methods include biocide treatment to prevent regrowth.
Do you clean gutters as part of the service?
Yes, we clear your gutters of any debris that washes down during the cleaning process. If you need a more thorough gutter clean, we can include that in your quote.
Are you insured?
Yes, we're fully insured with public liability cover. You'll have complete peace of mind knowing that you're protected if anything unexpected happens.
How soon can you do the work?
We typically book 1-2 weeks in advance, though this varies depending on the time of year. We'll give you available dates when you request a quote.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
Not necessarily. As long as we have access to your property and can reach the roof safely, we can complete the work while you're out. We'll send photos of the finished result.

Can you clean my roof in winter?
We can clean roofs year-round, but we avoid working in freezing conditions or heavy rain for safety reasons. The biocide treatments we use work in all temperatures, though they're most effective in milder weather.
